When I message someone to play, I'll make a private game to ensure I get to play the person I asked, and not get paired up with someone else who may already be waiting in queue. But now i'm seeing that all these games aren't counting towards my rating! Why is this?
It's a tad frustrating since i've only lost 1 private game ever. Is it possible to make these game count towards my rating now?

You cannot be chosing opponents for rated games, because then rating wouldnt work.
This is same reason why you cannot have blacklist of players you dont want to play against.
