Does anyone else feel that 80g is way too expensive for these cards?
You get: An infantry at full health, Movement utility, and surprise utility.
Cost: 80g + You kill one of your units.
Lets say you use it on a recon since that is the least expensive unit. Thats a 60g investment (less the value of what you were able to do with it in its short life).
I think somewhere in the range of 50g is more reasonable. Thoughts?

the idea is to make a unit that is going to die useful and 10 extra gold is fair for the movement from the starting hexes like adrenaline or adrenaline shot

I suppose I wasn't thinking about how to use the card properly to an extent. Still isn't all that great though since if your unit is going to die it means putting this new infantry you just paid for right into harms way.

It's true that it costs 15g for merc recon, but each card has a value of about 35g so you have to keep that in mind. Taking the merc recon card means one less enlist card for example.

Yes I would. Right now I feel it's just too costly to take up a card slot. At 50g I could throw it in a deck for utility or for a resource cap strat in the start. I have a similar deck to the ones that fewar used in the tourney he posted here viewtopic.php?f=34&t=2408I think that if the card were a little more cost effective it would do well in a deck like this. I think the card is pretty decent, you're supposed to use it on a unit that will surely die next turn as to take the enemy by surprise and posibly capture a resource that might be several turns away from your base.
But i do agree that it seems 5g or 10g too expensive, given it's pros and cons:
Pros: -You get an infantry right where you need it. -You surprise the enemy.
Cons:
-You pay 10 more gold for the unit. -You lose what that unit might have done in the next turn (could very well be nothing).
So you're basically paying 10g + whatever that unit might have done to get a quick deployment for an Infantry, in some cases that might make a big difference, in others none at all.

Eject and Abandon are really great cards, but I too feel them too costly for constructed, because you have to sacrifice a unit. In sealed on the other hand, they are very strong, so making them cheaper would buff them into the sky here.

You know I wasn't even considering how it would affect sealed. That's a really good point. Perhaps 50g is too cheap, but 80g is still a lot. Maybe 65? Abandon is a rare card and you only get 3 of those in sealed.
