I'm GreaseSpot, better known as Bubbles' dad. Quite a nice little title you folks have here.
[back_in_my_day!] When I was a teenager, several centuries ago, I remember playing turn based sims with a paper map and cardboard hex pieces representing the units. My favorite was "Red Star/White Star" which detailed sims of conflict in Europe between NATO and Warsaw Pact forces (back when the Russians were the bad guys). I distinctly remember that the first time my brother, friend, and I played it we spent several hours just deciphering the INSTRUCTIONS. Those were the days, etc. [/back_in_my_day!]
I'll have to get my brother to see this. Maybe I'll get to kick HIS butt for a nice change. Otherwise, I will again be...

NATO/Warsaw Pact game I liked..for our old Apple 2c...NATO Commander . Got Combat Points and Political Points (or lost them)...e.g., inflict large casualties--> Combat Points. Losing ground (especially losing cities--->lose political points. more points amassed, at end of "day" get "news stories", to gauge how well you're doing. DOIng poorly? Demonstrations by Italian socialists threaten to pull Italy from NATO. REALLY Bad? France declares withdrawal from NATO. Good? Labor strikes and unrest in Poland. REALLY Good? France commits it's troops to the fight. I got good enough I could win the Battle of Germany in 3 days.
