Had some free time this weekend. FUCKING FEWAR GOT LUCKY AND BEAT ME IN THE TOURNAMENT.

Anyways, it turns out many oldies/goldies from childhood are now replayable with modern additions.

Planescape Torment: http://thunderpeel2001.blogspot.com/200 ... odded.html
Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 COMBINED: http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments ... _gate_and/
Arcanum (have always wanted to play it but never had the time to): http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments ... teamworks/

And of course games like Deus Ex.

It's amazing how these games with simple patches are still much better than modern games.

FUCK YOU FEWAR

Everyone who hasn't played above games should do so IMMEDIATELY. Those are the greatest pieces of software ever coded!

I played BG&BG2 with the BGTrilogy mod (it combines both games without adding all this bonus stuff - I kinda like the original feel). If I find the time - and I will - I'll install the "weidu tactis mod" (http://www.weidu.org/tactics.html) and beat BG for the 12324th time, this time with even more insane challenge :D

You should also add Icewind Dale i & II to that list, though I don't know of any mods.

I don't like Icewind Dale as much because they don't require as much thinking.

Yes.
IWD is like BG, but more linear, more battles and more dungeons. BG on the other hand is more story driven. I like both of them - try IWD in "heart of fury mode" :D

You are welcome solid :)

I tried arcanum once, but it was too late after it came out and it was too outdated.

I have finished rest of them more than once, I am playing Icewind dale now :) . Planscape suffered from interface (made for consoles) , it would be much better with standart bg interface.
