So i finally got my hands on the 3DS four days ago and I'm STILL finding myself mumbling "that's amazing!" to myself as I kick butt in street fighter. The 3D is not like in 3D movies where it's supposed to pop OUT at you, rather it gives DEPTH to the games. In SSF4, there are layers on the screen and I've actually tried to peak around the corner of the screen to see what more was there! The 3D is just amazing.
The graphics themselves aren't bad AT ALL either (for a handheld)!
The only downside to the 3D (which can't be helped with or without glasses) is that after a certain angle, the 3D is just blurs and doesn't work
The Augmented Reality is pretty sweet too. I've taken pictures with nintendo characters in fun positions (see attached), shot at fire-breathing dragons on a desk in school, and even shot at my own face laughing maniacally as it flew around my bedroom. The only complaint I have about the AR is that for the Cards, you HAVE to keep the card on the screen, and the distance from the card is a little important too. All in all, you can overlook it with all the amazing stuff it entails
Awesome:
-Can adjust 3D any time without pausing or anything
-Can turn wireless on any time without pausing or anything
-The new "circle pad" (joy-stick) is really nice
-The graphics and 3D are astounding
-The Augmented Reality (AR) is equally as astounding
-Some very nice minor features (power-saving mode that looks barely any different, Game Notes, etc)
-Can take 3D pictures (and 2D ones) (SD memory card)
-Can record/play music (SD memory card)
-Really cool "Going-To and Leaving the home menu" system (ex. I can be in the middle of SSF4, hit 1 button and without a wait go straight to the main 3DS menu, look at my game notes or adjust the brightness or something, and with 1 more button, go straight back into the game in mid-fight)
Not so awesome:
-Battery life is only about 3 hours, maaaybe 5 with power-saving on and wireless off (on brightness 5 of 5)
-Friends List currently is useless (but can be fixed in a software update)
-Fairly pricey ($250)
Lastly, if anyone wants to add me to their Friends List (and maybe duke it out in SSF4), PM me.
