So my friend told me the other day that they're making another Prince of Persia game, but this time it's based on the movie. Which is based on the other games. What's wrong here? lol

They are not making it, it is already made. And I dont think it is based on the movie, it just went out in same time as movie.
But yes, it is stupid, they should have made normal sequel to previous one.
