there are a number of things you can do. If you have a Control Point or Recourse, put him away from it and you dont need a Recon, since both have 1 tile view radius.
Also, I've seen some people (shan't name names) put Ballistics on one, making it have range SIX. THis is wicked strong....
I'd like the Artillery / Recon card, personally

yeah, I think it's kinda lame that buildings have sight like that so all you have to do is put an artillery in range. you should have to have a unit giving sight to attack like that because there's absolutely nothing an infantry can to do survive and escape free artillery fire from building sight.

I like to use my Arty/Recon card, slap binoculars on the recon. get it on a hill, for commanding vision...either ballistics an artillery,or use a marksman artillery. marksman AA for cover.

I try to get a recon up there and produce a swarm of artillery behind. I can destroy units in one turn in this way. Then I get some tanks or air units to advance.
Artillery behind a hill is devastating. Use the landscape to your advantage.

Remember to protect them though, Choppers can eat them up quickly.

Well, if they send in one or two helis, I can handle that. But if they send in a WAVE, I'm damned.
