I´ve been watching quite a few replays, and there´s something that caught my eye. Assuming that HQs are at the top and bottom of the map, and that the flanks are the left and right sides, in a 1v1 most Top Dogs either:
-Try a
Spearhead (take the middle of the map ignoring the flanks at first, and then after the middle is secure go for the flanks), or
-Try a
Pincer Movement (take the left and right flanks of the map ignoring the middle at first, then focus on the middle).
From the games I´ve watched (a tiny fraction, of course), seems that:
-Advancing one single front (
Line of Battle),
-Focusing only on one flank (for example, only the right flank), or
-Focusing on one flank and the middle
are not usually on the menu.
So, without revealing too much... which tactic and why?
EDIT: replaced "sides" by "flanks", which is a better military term.
