What kind of Music does everyone listen to here? Does anyone play any instruments? Have any hopes for jobs in relation to music?

I'm a percussionist. Been playin Concert Percussion for 4 years and Drum Set for 2 years. I'm dual-majoring in those 2 Music performance degrees. I like a variety of music, just not pop, country, and most of all, rap.

Favorite Bands in order:
1. Avenged Sevenfold (by miles -- RIP Rev)
2. An Endless Sporadic (2 college friends -- prog rock or fuzion jazz)
3. Owl City or Explosions in the Sky (I liked Owl City before they got popular...)

My favorite 5 artists, in order, are

1. Meat Loaf
2. Weird Al Yankovic
3. Kid Rock
4. NWA
5. Motley Crue

Modern Rock/Metal/Alternative Metal:
Dream Theater
3 Doors Down
Collective Soul
Saving Abel
and one or two songs by a very wide variety including:
Ludo (Lake Pontchartrain!)
Third Eye Blind (Blinded)
Lit (My Own Worst Enemy)
etc.

Classic Rock:
far too numerous to mention. This is what I grew up with. Great stuff for the most part although I've really modernized in the last few years. However, nothing beats early Boston, the last two albums from The Eagles (Hotel California and The Long Run), or anything Pink Floyd from Meddle onward (EXCLUDING The Wall and Final Cut. Waters just got WAY too weird on those).

I like all different types of music. Especially hip hop. I've been to a lot of different concerts. I'm from the Seattle area so theres a place in the middle of Washington State called the columbia river gorge. It's a huge venue by house of blues that is outdoors and people camp out and I used to go to warped tour every single year. I think each year my musical tastes evolve though. Lately its been hip hop.

most of my hiphop likes are "Old School"..from when I was in Jr. High..Kool Moe Dee, LL Cool J, Run-DMC, Doug E Fresh, Eric B & Rakim, Monie Love, etc.

OK, You're a music lover! At #5 do you, perhaps, mean Slipknot? That's a pretty eclectic mix of bands.

As for AC/DC, do you prefer the Bon Scott or the Brian Jones era? Personally, I prefer Bon Scott. That guy's voice was nasty and unique. Brian Jones is just a screamer and he can't even do that very well any more. The one Brian Jones cut I really liked was Hell's Bells - however I liked it more for the intro, not his singing.
