So my friend and I were wondering if there are any other ways to heal a unit once you run out of heal cards. Are there?
During the tournament last night, I had a few artillery units standing back that were on fire and I had already used up my heal cards and wanted to keep them out of battle since there were fighter planes occupying the middle of the map.
Since they were just sort of sitting there damaged, one thought was that it would be cool to be able to repair them at least partially by bringing them back to the starting position back at the base. Or maybe there could be some sort of repair building or unit that you could create? In Warcraft II you could have a peon repair certain types of units/buildings, and I think that could be a cool element to add to Battle Dex.

Interesting idea, isn't it? This has been brought up before, but hasn't been implemented and tested to see if it could work. This could be something to watch for...

and to prevent it from being too overpowered, have it take a moderate amount of resources to repair. Something in the 1/4 to 1/2 cost of the unit.

I agree with this, need to create either an engineer type support unit, that can heal.

You should be able to repair units in your starting area. As of now, the cards EVAC are completely useless. What's the point of bringing a unit back to base? It does you no good for the Gs it cost. If you can repair units for a moderate cost, it actually brings up the micro level and hence the skill level of the game, along with strategy. It's definitely something the dev team needs to consider!

Solid you would use evac to get your units back to your base in case of a rush. It is better then spending 2 or 3 turns taking damage if you could just have 3 units appear there. I think of Evac as a defensive card. Would I use it? No but thats the reason I think it is there

When I saw the EVAC Card I thought this was why it was made.
But then it did nothing back on the start, so I learned.
But Healing say 25% at the base with an option to heal full by spendiing points might help out with the run away game and give an underdog a chance.

Or if not Healing at the base, perhaps a Trade In worth some % of the Unit.
That will make Evacs possibly worth using as it denies your foe a Kill and Upgrade and saves you some cash.

Cooldown, can you read my post above and get a response on this?
By adding this feature, you're also balancing out other cards, such as advanced training, which has no use right now.

We've talked about this but haven't seriously considered putting heal-at-base in the game at this point, mainly because it would allow for more units on the board at once, which creates a clutter problem and could contribute to a "war of attrition" approach. Evac cards are very useful for units you've spent a lot of cash buffing and want to bring back in later, possibly with an Overhaul card that would've done you no good while it was getting hammered by enemy units. I've seen the Evac cards used masterfully and they have won matches for people in the past. Advanced Training is also very useful for creating a Veteran/Legendary unit early in the game. You learn to appreciate its value after you're on the receiving end of a good Training strat.
