There is so much more to chat than just "teaming up". In a recent 4 player FFA, one guy (who will remain nameless, it certainly wasn't me), worked the chat so well, he turned a losing game into a winning one.

Mind games, yo. Fun slippery stuff.

You are correct in your analysis. Often, it starts with one person trying to claim that the players they are fighting with should attack someone else because that person is winning. Then that person makes a claim to why either they aren't winning or shouldn't be attacked. And good verbal skills can help you, I've used them before.

But this isn't something I'm necessarily fond of. I simply prefer letting the discussion happen through troop movement and gameplay.

3 man ffa is in tourneys, because this way you need no byes ( there are even 1v1 games , if there are 5 or 2 people left ) .
