Each Side chooses from a drop down or list, The Number of CP points, and Starting Money.

These choices are Averaged to determine the Values for the game.

The List is used to keep it all within reason.

Perhaps a way to make it a bid, though I have yet to come up with a good way to make it work.

this would be fun :) Though theyd have to make maps that are huge and with many slots that could be CP, resource, or normal. Seems too complicated to be put in any time soon

No. I think he means choices for the amount of CPs you need to win, and the amount of money you start with. The maps would stay the same.

This would be an interesting dynamic, because it would mean that no one deck will be perfect for a match. You'll always have to tweak it before you start, depending on the starting criteria.

I like it.

Frozen synapse (a very different turn-based game in beta) has a game type where each player makes a blind bid by selecting areas of the map. Whoever selects more is the defender, and must prevent the attacker from entering their bid area... could something like this work for BDex, perhaps with a resource bonus for bidding larger areas (since they're harder to defend?)

Of course, FS is a one-hit one-kill game, without aircraft or move bonuses, so obviously some tweaking is needed :)

Yep that would be cool, Bidding on starting resources and Defending the area.

Could be quite fun Indeed.

Lets see,

You Bid on Starting money to defend an area, you get to buy and place all your units and the Attacker then does the same and has first turn.

Perhaps the Defender can not move units until that unit sees an enemy or is shot at.

Limited Resources, All CPs are in Defender area, so the attacker has to push.

Bid too low and you do not have enough to do the job.

Just more what ifs, for later down the road.
