Byes will be awarded for the Pro Circuit based on Pro Circuit Points:
1. Top in Pro Circuit Points -- 4 Byes
2. 2-5 -- 3 Byes
3. 6-10 -- 2 Byes
4. 11-15 -- 1 Bye
Please note. Only the top 5 in Pro Points automatically qualify.
An additional bye can be earned by winning 3 qualifiers of the tournament type.

does this mean you get byes for the qualifiers or for the actual 3k$ events?

They will be Swiss. But they will have byes. If you get a bye, its like you won your first round.

Byes usually give terrible tie-breakers. Is that a factor in this game?
That is, if I have 4 byes and then go 2-2 -- for a total of 6w-2l -- how do you determine if I placed higher than somebody who goes 6w-2l naturally.
I'm tempted to say that also giving "byes" perfect tie-breakers as well as the free win, pushes the game away from the common player.

if you get 4 byes, after 4 games you will have 4 wins, so you will be matched with a palyer who havent lost yet. If you can beat him, than you deserve to be up there. In swiss system youi end up where yopu belong +- 1 game, if there is enough games. But I am not sure how many games will be actually played here.
