In most situations when you gain the upper hand, the best decision is to make your opponent come to you. Unfortunately, if you make a comeback LATE in a game you might not have that luxury.

Once you gain the upper hand you need to do some quick math. If I just sit here and defend, will I win? If the answer is yes then that is what you should do. If the answer is no, and there is no way you will be able to make up the victory point margin, you need to attempt to kill your opponent’s base.

Many new players forget to look at how many turns are left in the game. They also don’t look at what control point total is needed to win. Training yourself to do these things at the end of each turn that you have extra time will help you win.

Things to consider when watching this replay:

What turn do you think hmpf felt like he had control of the map? What was the victory point total then?

What types of units did hmpf bring to attack the base? Why?

Why did you have to post a game of me losing? Another good piece of advice, don't send your most powerful units into combat by themselves (like I did with my lethal heavy tank). If you notice a unit by itself in enemy territory, get it out of there and regroup.
