The time has come for our first community contest: Create a Card!

Rules:

  • Post in this thread with your idea for a new card using the format below.
  • The top winners will be determined by the Bandera Games team.
  • There will also be 3 Community Winners, determined by a forum user poll.
  • Contest ends at 12:01 am CST, Tuesday, April 27, 2010.

Format:

Card title: (ex: Enlist 4 Infantry)
Duration: (# of turns or Permanent)
Rarity: (Common, Uncommon, Rare, or Ultra Rare)
Description: (body text describing what the card does)


Don't worry about gold cost or artwork, we'll handle that part.

Prizes

  • 15 card packs
  • Your card potentially added to the game!
  • Name recognition on our front page

FIne print:

1. Entry:
  • No purchase is necessary.
  • Enter as much as you like, but only one entry may qualify as a winner.
  • All entries become the property of Bandera Games. Entry constitutes permission to edit, modify, publish, and otherwise use the card description in any way without compensation. Bandera Games reserves the right to refuse to incorporate any winning cards into the final game.
  • Entry must not infringe the copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other intellectual property rights of any person or entity.

2. Eligibility:

Contest is open to all registered Battle Dex users. Employees of Bandera Games are not eligible to enter the contest.

3. Judging

Winners will be judged on creativity, originality, feasibility, and balance consideration. Overall winning card ideas will be selected by the Bandera Games team. Three (3) Community Winners will also be chosen by forum poll.

3. Prizes:

A feature recipe will be chosen weekly and will be highlighted on our website. This recipe entrant will receive a free one pound bag of our natural mammoth halves. We will mail the pecans to the address supplied by the entrant.

At the end of each annual contest, one winner will be chosen as the Grand Prize Winner. This contestant will receive the grand prize of $1000. The winner will be notified within one month of the closing date of the contest and may be featured on our website. A check made payable to the entrant will be mailed shortly after notification. A recipe does not have to be one of our weekly featured recipes in order to be considered for the Grand Prize.

Title: Evasive Maneuvers

Effect: Unit has 50% chance for each attack against it to miss.

Title: Armor Breach

Duration: Permanent

Frequency: Rare

Effect: Armor is reduced by 20%


--so, a unit with no armor takes +20% damage from all attacks. (if I'm understanding how Armor works)

Duration: 2 Turns

Frequency: Ultra Rare

Effect: select any hex on the map. 3 hex radius from there you have sight of, revealing hidden units as well.

Title: A10 Strike 150g

Duration: 3 turns

Frequency: Rare

Effect: Travels across a section of the map doing damage to any units in a straight line as it passes over. If a10 survives the duration of the attack, 30% of gold is refunded


Title: A10 Strike 2 250g

Duration: 4 turns

Frequency: Ultra Rare

Effect:Two a10s travel across different line sections of the map doing damage to any units in a straight line as it passes over (each a10 can only attack a unit once unless it manages to get in front of it's path again) For each a10 that survives the durations of the attack, refund 25% gold.


Title: A10 Strike 3 430g

Duration: 5 turns

Frequency: Ultra Rare

Effect: Two a10s travel across different line sections of the map doing damage to any units in a straight line as it passes over (each a10 can only attack a unit once unless it manages to get in front of it's path again) For each a10 that survives the durations of the attack, refund 20% gold.


The increase in turn duration means it travels across the map slower allowing a chance for the enemy to shoot down the a10 before it exits the other side of the map or it's duration has run out. User can pick hex line it will travel down and direction. Possibly give it slightly more damage than a heli vs ground and maybe 20% of that damage vs air (or cause air units to lose a turn through needing to evade). Cannot damage buildings.

This would be a card you would use to bomb roads where heavy units are likely to be traveling to move faster

Description: Create a bunker (building) on a hex adjacent to 2 or more infantry. Attacks air and ground. 300 health. Can hold up to 4 infantry.

Card Title: Descend
Duration: Permenant
Rarity: Ultra Rare
Description: Make an uninhabited elevated hex level to the ground

Card Title: Ascend
Duration: Permanent
Rarity: Ultra Rare
Description: Make a hex (ally-inhabited or empty) elevated

Card Title: Mechanic Shop
Duration: Permanent
Rarity: Rare
Description: Create a bulding (400hp) that heals 30% of a mechanical unit's health when it is on the same hex as Mechanic Shop at the end of the turn.
